There are all sorts of uses for random numbers, ranging from the frivolous (playing games) to the serious (handing out prizes at events such as business seminars and races) to the ultra-serious (performing business audits). Handy Randy will generate and display random numbers in user-specifiable ranges (e.g., 1-1000). Up to seven different, non-contiguous ranges can be specified (e.g., 1-200, 350-475) so that you don't waste time generating random numbers which aren't relevant to your problem. The software can also draw random NAMES from your Palm Address Book, either the entire address book or any specified category. Keeps track of all numbers drawn, and, as a user-specifiable option, prevents any number from being drawn more than once.o Lets you specify how many numbers are drawn with each tap, from 1 to 999. Generates random numbers up to eight digits (that is, up to 99999999).Optionally, sorts the numbers into numerical order, so you can easily see which numbers have been drawn. Displays the entire list of numbers which have been drawn in a scrollable view.And finally, in conjunction with PalmPrint software, also from Stevens Creek Software lets you print the list of drawn numbers directly to supported printers.Version 2.0 adds the ability to select random NAMES from the Palm Address Book (one category or the entire address book) along with random numbers. Version 2.1 adds sound ("fanfare") when single numbers are drawn, and also support for PalmOS 5. Version 2.1.1 fixes a bug which prevented drawing more numbers than available (when requested), e.g., drawing 250 numbers in the range 1-25. Version 2.2 adds compatibility with the 5-way navigator and the "Contacts" database, and fixes a bug in the printing of randomly selected names.
