This is an excellent learning tool and I'm glad to see that it has finally been updated.

I can't see how they can claim that it is HiRez, though, when the text in the Q & A screens still has the jaggies. Even the standard small font looks like it did on my old Palm Vx. Though this doesn't effect the usefulness of the program, I'm still going to deduct one star.

MapleTop, if you are listening, I'll gladly pay to register again (I'm a long time user) if you make it fully HiRez.

Updating my earlier comments (below), Mapletop support suggested that I tweak my color preferences, as some of the third-party databases apparently do not get along well with all of the LifeDrive themes. Now it works like a charm, and I can finally fully retire my Tugsten C.

I found this program to be valuable well beyond my expectations for learning Japanese. Totally intuitive, flexible interface allows focus on areas of greatest need, and to cover a huge amount of material quickly, efficiently and repeatedly. I am anxiously awaiting an update that will enable me to migrate it to my LifeDrive, for I am frankly falling behind without it!

This is a great program. I don't know anything about algorithms or any other gobbledygook, but I do know it works. I also believe I have stumbled across a way of doing drills in reverse, which really helps the process; I haven't really read the manual so I will just tell you how mine is set up.

Tap on a card to open the "card edit" function, then hit "template." Then hit default. Under "field" is the word (English) when the Q at the top is highlighted; the "field" changes to (French) when the A at the top is highlighted.

I have no idea what any of this means, all I know is when I hit "reverse" to be prompted by the words in French it works perfectly and when I hit "normal" the question appears in English.

This is a GODAWESOME program, and I find it incredibly useful, yet simple. The only reason I've not quite managed to memorize the first set of stuff I put in was my own lapse in using it. . .and even then, it has all *almost* stuck! Absolutely wonderful. The major issue is, as noted previously, the lack of updates. No support for hi-res is among the needed updates, but in the mean time, here's a simple fix. Go into the template setup for a given database. Generally, B (bold), L (large), and the t and w (for stretching horizontally/vertically, I presume) are enabled. Turn all but B off under the question and answer section for smaller text; if you don't ever use notes in your answers, you can turn bold off as well. Just a user tip! I repeat, though, despite the lack of recent updates, its a wonderful product and learning tool, almost certainly the best bit of cash I've spent in a long time.
