Ever wonder how long you've been alive, down to the day? What about the precise amount of time since you met (or married) that special someone? How long 'till your next anniversary?

DateDiff is a simple program that allows the user to find out how much time has elapsed between any two dates, either in terms of days, months and years or just the number of days.

Multiple date combinations ("events") can be stored, modified or deleted. The list of events is backed up with a HotSync, so that, if necessary, they can be restored after a hard reset.

    Feature list:

    • dates can be optionally displayed with ISO 8601 week numbers
    • date formats (when not in weeks mode) can be changed to any one of four alternatives
    • help texts are stored in compressed format, saving a few Kb in application size
    • events can be grouped into categories
    • number of days can be locked, with Date A locked to system date: Date B will always be n days from Date A
    • notes of up to 1 Kb can be associated with each event
    • note icon optionally displayed in list view (option selected in Note dialog)
    • long event titles are truncated in list view so that all data fits in row
    • "locking" arrows in list view indicate whether the locking of a date is counting forward to a date in the future or backward to a date in the past
    • when in "All" category listing in list view, the category of the selected event is displayed
    • any number of events can be stored (or edited, or deleted)
    • list of events is backed up with a HotSync, so that, if necessary, they can be restored after a hard reset
    • list view shows the title and the total number of days for each event
    • locked dates are updated even in list view -- and will even change as you use the program past midnight
    • Date B can be set x number of days before or after Date A
    • Dates A & B can be switched

DateDiff is freeware, distributed under the GNU General Public License.
    Updated Description:

    Version 3.1 (2002.03.21)

    • added ISO 8601 weeks functionality: dates may now be optionally displayed with week numbers
    • date formats (when not in weeks mode) can be changed to any one of four alternatives
    • help texts are stored in compressed format, saving a few Kb in application size
    • source divided into numerous different files for easier management

I love this program. I use it for both fun and work. For fun, I track birthdays and events. For example, my husband is 19,814 days old today and we have been married 2,276 days. I track the days until my next vacation. For work, I must know when 90 or 120 days deadline are up. This program works like a charm. THANK YOU

I like this software alot because it tells you how many days ago you are born or when January 1st, 2000 was. e.g.From April 3, 2005, it was 1,919 days ago (5 years ago, or How Many days old I'm, from from December 14th, 1963 the time when I was born, to today, April 3, 2005, which will reveal that I'm 15,086 days old (or 41 years old)!, this is a facinating software This software will give you days, instead of months and years.

    I use a Palm Tungsten E. (OS5)

My need was for a program that would calculate the number of weeks between two dates spaced far apart.

This program does so on my Tungsten E and allows me to name & save the calculation for later reference.

It has a feature that locks one of the dates & allows for a regular decrement towards the date first used to setup the calculation.

Very useful if you need to know how much time you have left to allocate unfinished schoolwork, before year or term end.

If this "time left" data is used in combination with a Palm program like CanDo v1.2a, you can see & schedule your list of ToDo items for the week, the month (or next 6 months).

This helps you not get taken by surprise even if you are behind on the tasks to be completed for the term.

One other thing. The named references can be removed just as easily as they can be inputed.

If you want something to tell how many days there are until some event, or how many days since some event, or what date is a certain number of days since a date (for example, figuring out when those minutes you bought for your prepaid cell phone will end), you can't get much better than this program. It has a clean and good looking interface that's easy to use. Surprisingly useful.
