Application Description
What's that bright thing over the wood shed? Is it a UFO or Venus? Grab your Palm Pilot and find out!
Planisphere is an interactive program modeled on the astronomical device of the same name. It displays the sky as it appears right now at your location - or at any other time and place you select. With a clean, uncluttered design, it is ideal for quickly locating stars, constellations and planets in the night sky.
Using Planisphere requires no prior knowledge of astronomy. All you need is a little curiosity, good eyesight and a clear night sky. If you're interested in stargazing, Planisphere is a great learning tool to get you started.

I have had this program for a little over a week and it still amazes me. Very easy to use and straight forward. The night vision mode is excellent and useful as is the star information page. In star info, the simple azimuth and elevation makes locating an object quite easy. I would recommend this program to anyone. It is the best $10 that I have spent.

I've tried several of the $10-$20 Astrology programs for Palm, and this is the best of those for teh casual stargazer. First of all, it is far better than Night Sky because you can actually look at the entire star field rather than just one constellation at a time. I prefer it to Star Pilot because it's draw time is *way* quicker and it is far more responsive... Though I have to say that Star Pilot's graphics are more true to what your eye actually sees- but I still prefer this program graphically because those little stars are a bit hard to see in Star Pilot.
So- yeah, for my $10, this is the best program out there for checking out the stars.
I just wish that for the casual observer (stargazer/dreamer/artist), there was a program that included some details for the non astronomer such as the myths behind the constelation names, astrology information etc.
Still- for $10, you can't ask for everything.

A very useful program even for the non-astronomer. Simple yet elegant interface. Well worth the shareware fee.

This is the commercial version of starchart (a free version) with added features. It is well worth the price. A simple but very useful astronomy guide. This developer should be supported.
